First participation in Fruit Logistica for Northwest Cherry Growers

"Northwest Cherry Growers ", were for the first time exhibitors at Fruit Logistica 2015 ( Hall 23, B 02).

The association "Northwest Cherry Growers " brings together all the producers in the northwest United States , 5 states ( Washington, Oregon , Idaho, Montana , Utah ). The association tries to highlight the Rainier variety. This light-colored cherry is yet very sweet. Rainier variety accounts for 10% of the volumes of "Northwest Cherry Growers ."

In 2014 , members of "Northwest Cherry Growers ' marketed 23.2 million boxes of " 20 pounds " (9.07 kg) , beating the previous record set in 2012 (22.9 million boxes ) and 2009 (20 46 million boxes). The main export destination is Canada, and to a lesser extent China, Hong Kong and South Korea.
