Apple harvest in the Venosta Valley is in full swing
VIP Coop. soc. Agricola, is one of the leading organic apple producers in Europe. Their seven cooperatives are spread throughout Val Venosta, or the Venosta Valley, which is known as an ideal spot for quality fresh produce cultivation. At Fruit Attraction 2021, Benjamin Laimer, Head of Marketing at VIP, has shared to Fructidor his expectations regarding the ongoing apple season:
“Now we are at the high point of the apple harvest and we plan to finish it by the beginning of November. The quality and quantity of the fruit is very good. In general, 50% of our produce we commercialize in Italy, to supermarket chains and wholesalers. Our main export markets remain Spain, Germany, Scandinavia. VIP export also to North Africa, Saudi Arabia, and Asia, but today, with these further destinations it’s quite difficult due to lack of containers. So we focus a lot on Europe” .
“Recently, VIP launched a new presentation of the product. Each individual variety is described according to its taste, smell, consistency and appearance. The new product presentation is completed by emotional and, at the same time, informative product images.
