Jan Oskam carries out the first shipments of the new pear Alessia

Jan Oskam BV, a Dutch fruit importer and exporter, reports on the good season for apples and pears.

“We started the new pear season at the end of August. The quality and quantity is quite good, as well as of apples, thanks to the good water we have available.”, comments Mr. Kees Oskam, General Director.

“This season, we’ll continue supplying markets that we always supply: from Europe to, let’s say, Kazakhstan and from Iceland to Bulgaria. There’ll probably be more possibilities in Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, and around that region, but we have to wait until the New Year. Then the perspective will be clearer.”, continues the director.

“This year, we started supplying our new pear variety, Alessia. This pear is of full red color, nice shape and is very productive. We are carrying out trial supplies for now.”, highlights Mr. Oskam.
