Slight decline expected for the production of cauliflower

If the surfaces are stable (16 800 hectares) the production 2015-16 of cauliflower is planned to decrease slightly.

Agreste, the information service of the Ministry of Agriculture, released its latest study on the production of cauliflower for the campaign (June 2015-April 2016).The area devoted to cauliflower totaling 16,800 hectares for a total similar to the previous year and down 10% on average from 2010 to 2014.

Total production of the 2015-16 season is estimated at 284 700 tonnes, - 7% compared to the previous season and 16% compared to the average of the last five years.

 Lower volumes will be spread over each month from the seasonal rise fall. Peak production remains in April.
