Significant increase in Peruvian avocado exports to India

The demand for Peruvian avocados in India is on the rise. The pandemic has negatively influenced the Indian economy but did not affect the fruit and veg consumption.

According to Promperú’s Business Office in India, between January and June 2021, 8 Peruvian companies exported avocados to India for a total value of $507.286, indicating 162% growth over the same period in 2020.

In the first half of 2020, 5 Peruvian exporters supplied avocados to this destination for a value of $193.326.

The most popular variety in the Indian market is Hass Avocado, the main destinations are Delhi, Mumbai, and Nava Sheva.
