Aegeans Exporters Union with the Economic ministry support have started this project from June 15 to inform Japonese and South Korean customers about Turkish food products. The project launch was made at the restaurant "Main Dining Restaurant" in Tokyo.
This project in 3 stages, aims first to set up activities to increase consumption of Turkish goods in a market which imports much of its food products to an annual value of 80 billions of dollars, with the promotion of products the famous recipes site COOKPAD and publicizing dried tomatoes, figs, apricots and raisins, sesame, olive oil, etc. and then the establishment of a website www.discoverturkishfood.com .
Turkish Aegean products currently represent 44 percent of the total export of Turkish products in Japan.
The second step is participation in FOODEX Japan and the third step is to develop recipes with Turkish products that would suit the Japanese palate with Michelin starred chef Akihiko Murata.
