Jebel Ali Port brought into service the new extension of the container terminal 2 (T2).
The new extension of container terminal was opened.
The opening of the new extension container terminal 2 (T2) allows to Jebel Ali port to add 1 million TEU (twenty-foot equivalent container units) and increase its capacity to 15 million TEU. Capacity that will reach 19 million TEU in 2014 with the Terminal 3, currently under construction.
The Jebel Ali port will be able to manage 10 giant new generation vessels at the same time, performance which will be of the only port in the region to achieve. The Jebel Ali port plays an important role in the economic growth of the United Arab Emirates, it is the first port in the region and this role will continue to serve more and more wide area.
