The NEPG is planning a total harvest of 27.9 million tonnes of potatoes for the five countries (Germany, Belgium, France, Great Britain and the Netherlands).
On the basis of plot-based sampling and taking into account the recently updated average yields of the five countries, the NEPG (North-Western European Potato Growers) a total harvest of about 27, 9 million tonnes of potatoes for consumption.
This follows an increase in area of 4.6% compared to last year and an average yield estimated today at 48.2 t / ha (+2.9% compared to the five-year average). This total harvest would be 11.5% higher than the five-year average, but at this stage below the 2014 harvest of 28.5 million tonnes.
The NEPG insists, however, that this is the current situation based on plot withdrawals and that the final figure for the crop may evolve.
