Leclerc plans to become the leading chain of distribution in France by 2015, overtaking its rival Carrefour.
Leclerc, the second largest retailer in France after Carrefour is looking to overtake its rival by 2015, according to an interview in Le Monde with the owner of the chain, Michel-Edouard Leclerc.
Leclerc believes that it can become the market leader by maintaining a growth rate of 4.5% to 5.5% per year. It isexpanding its policy of low prices and
its services on the Internet.
Leclerc increased its sales by 8% (excluding fuel), despite reduced in spending in wine fairs and for electronics and appliances. In 2012 Leclerc plans to improve its market share in 2012 to 17.5% - 18%.
