First delivery of Zespri kiwis for Mumbai

It is the city of Mumbai (formerly Bombay) which was chosen as the first destination for Zespri kiwis in India.

The New Zealand company Zespri has just started its exports to India.

Mumbai city has received the 1st deliveries and by the end of May , other Indian cities will also receive Zespri kiwi.

In the Indian market , Zespri emphasizes the taste and health arguments (high vitamin C) to conquer consumers. Nearly 80 % of the fruit will be sold by street vendors and only 20% by the modern distribution system. The kiwi is sold to consumers at a lower price than imported apples .
