Strawberries : the 2014-15 season totaled 288,660 tons

Positive results for the 2014-15 season that has just ended in the Huelva region.

FRESHUELVA , the association of producers and exporters of strawberries, first announced details of the 2014-15 campaign. Production totaled 288,660 tonnes, up to 3% compared to last year although the cultivated areas have decreased by 9%.

The turnover reached 355 million euros, + 20.7% compared to the previous catastrophic season.

A total of 226 660 tonnes was sold for fresh consumption , or about 78.5% , and the remaining 62,000 tonnes, so 21.5% for industry.
