In Vietnam, fruit and vegetable imports increased by +28.8% in value

According to local media, Vietnam is importing more and more fruits and vegetables. Compared to the same periods of 2021, the increase in value reached +23.1% for the period of the first 4 months of the year and +28.8% for the period of the first 8 months of the year.

 

Among the 10 main supplier markets of Vietnam, South Africa is in the lead with an increase of +70%, followed by China with +63%. Imports from Australia, Cambodia, South Korea and Myanmar also increased, with rates above 10%.

 

The reasons for this situation are various: Chinese fruits are in demand in the low-end segment due to their competitive prices and the prices of imports from other countries (United States, New Zealand, South Korea, etc.). .) fell 10-30% from the previous year.
