The RAVAS solutions for weighing containers, mandatory starting July 1

Amendments to SOLAS (Safety of Life at Sea) require that from the 1st of July 2016 the audited gross weight of the containers is known before boarding a ship. The sender is responsible for checking the weight of the filled container. 

 

2 methods are allowed: weighing of the entire container loaded (method 1), or each weighing element loaded in the container (Method 2). 

 

Ravas offers effective and rapid weighters solutions, iForks, for Forklift, each pallet is lifted immediately weighted and the application Solas de Ravas which calculates the total weight of the container and can send it to all stakeholders in the logistic chains logistics, inclusing the shipping company. 

 

Ravas IForks is a wireless weighing system for forklift trucks. With this system each lifted load is weighed immediately. The Ravas Iforks allow a weight display on a screen in the cabine. Communication via Bluetooth or Wifi connection. 

 

The Solas application is installed ona PDA, an Ipad or Iphone. It allows the use too identify pallets or individual shipments, record their weight communicated by Ravas Iforks. The total weight of the container is calculated and recorded on the terminal and can be downloaded to a PC. If the application is used on an Ipad or Iphone, information can be emailed to the transport company directly from the application.
