Argentina aims to broaden its export offer to the UK

After leaving the European Community, the United Kingdom began to provide new business opportunities for Argentina, which means that negotiations are no longer carried out within the framework of the regional bloc.
Juan José Bahillo, the Minister of Production of the province of Entre Ríos, held an online meeting with Javier Figueroa, the Argentine ambassador to the United Kingdom, where they analyzed the possibility of achieving a reduction in tariffs on Entre Ríos citrus.
In the meeting also participated Pablo Sívori, the Undersecretary of Trade and Investment Promotion of the Foreign Ministry, Lucio Amavet, the Secretary of Agriculture, Juan Mansur, the Director of Foreign Trade, and Santiago Caprarulo, the Executive Director of the Chamber of Exporters of Citrus from the NEA.
The negotiation with the ambassador allows to discover more about the British market since the Argentine representation there carries out some commercial intelligence and offers contacts and logistics scheme.
Bahillo highlighted the need to establish a joint work strategy to develop the export of products from Entre Ríos.
He also stressed that it has already been discussed with the governor that if conditions allow, Entre Ríos will participate in the trade mission scheduled for September, organized along with the Foreign Ministry.
In addition, the officials of Entre Rios said that they will provide a complete report on how the provincial trade with the United Kingdom is made up, which includes rice, citrus fruits, blueberries, concentrated citrus juices and poultry meat.
