New market for Spanish stone fruit exported to South Africa.
FEPEX reports that Spanish producers and exporters of stone fruits have signed an export deal with South Africa, which opens a new market for exports from Spain. Market diversification is a necessity when the EU represents 93% of Spanish exports of
fruits and vegetables.
In 2011 Spanish exports to South Africa totaled 4,543 tons (3,818 tons of fruit and 725 tons of vegetables) and should increase with the new agreement.
