Trust-Mart, with lower operating costs and lower prices will reach a broader customer base.
Wal-Mart continues its expansion in China and has launched the first "compact hypermarket ', discount store which is targeting rural and urban customers at low income.
A first store of 3,400 square meters was opened in Zhangshu in the East, under the name Trustmart.
For lower prices, Wal-Mart saves on the cost of decoration: brick walls, cement floors. The concept is based on Bodega Aurrera stores in Mexico and Changomas in Argentina, where Wal-Mart has realized significant cost savings.
In China, Wal-Mart has already opened 189 hypermarkets. Its sales rose 15.2% in 1 year.
