Ukraine loses leadership in apples exporting to Russia
Supply of Russian fruit market with Ukrainian apples during last 6 months considered to have the smallest volumes within last 5 years.
The number of apples exported to Russia from Ukraine during this period comprised only 14,5 thousand tons. This season delivery volumes have dropped to 34%. These numbers remarkably differ from 2011 figures. For example, only within July – December 2011 period Ukraine has delivered to Russia around 21 thousand tons of apples. The biggest amount of apples for last 5 seasons has been delivered to Russia from Ukraine (around 37 thousand tons) in July – December 2010.
As a result today Ukraine has moved one step down in the list of countries supplying apples to Russia. Now Ukraine occupies only 7th place in the previously mentioned rating.
