Higher production and rising exports

Production and exports will increase for the 2016-17 season.

In Chile, estimates for production and exports of blueberries just been unveiled by the organization committee Arándanos.

For the season 2016-17 the Committee Arándanos anticipates production of approximately 141,400 tonnes, about 4.3% compared to 135,539 tons produced by the country in the 2015-16 season.

This higher production will lead to a growth in exports. Blueberry exports could total 94,000 tons for the season. Last season, fresh blueberries accounted for 67.5% of exports and 25.7% frozen blueberries.
