The 2023-24 Peruvian blueberry export season is developing with a positive trend, according to Proarándanos.
Shipments in May 2023 increased 99%, from 790 tons in May 2022 to 1,574 tons in May this year, almost doubling.
The trade association reported that this result is mainly due to the increase in supplies to the United States, where there was a significant growth of 345%.
In absolute terms, among the main producing regions, Ancash recorded an outstanding growth with 387 tons. It is followed by Piura, which did not export in May of the previous season, but managed to ship 223 tons this year, and La Libertad, which increased its exports by 197 tons.
