Interko, the Dutch manufacturer and installer of revolutionary ripening solutions this year celebrates 50s anniversary and presented new state-of-art approaches.
Since 1968, Interko has installed over 7,000 ripening rooms worldwide for bananas, avocados, mangoes, papayas and many other fruits – the earliest of which are still in operation and performing well today.
“Interko solutions in truth are considered as revolutionary ripening thanks to cost-efficiency, high quality and low-maintenance,” reveals Chris Maat, the managing partner of Interko.
“Building the first ripening room in 1976 Interko has gone through three generations of ripening solutions achieving maximum possible energy efficiency,” Chris continues. “First generation of ripening rooms allowed decreasing energy consumption by 25 % thanks to new energy meter launched in 1991. Later in 2001 Second generation of Interko pressurized ripening room achieved 30 % of energy consumption decrease. In 2011 Third generation of ripening rooms allowed to save up to 55% of energy consumption. Starting from 2016 Interko ripening became truly revolutionary effective due to RƎVERSO fan that now enables to achieve up to 65% of save in energy consumption!”
Depending on products and quantity of pallets to be hosted in the room, Interko adapts ripening solutions to clients’ needs. Therefore Interko ULTIMO is designed for 4 - 90 pallets with high volumes possible under equal airflow with use of high efficiency RƎVERSO reversible fan. At the same time Interko AXESSO allows 8-20 pallets to be processed with typical volume, highly versatile under equal airflow using height adjustable individual curtains
