Good prospects for the 2017 strawberry harvest in France.
In France, the 2017 strawberry production seems to be well oriented, up by 3% over 1 year and by 7% from the 2012-16 average, according to the latest forecasts.
AGRESTE, a department of the Ministry of Agriculture, published the forecasts for the 2017 season. The total area is 3,770 hectares (+ 12% compared to the 2012-16 average).
Production in 2017 is expected to reach 61,591 tons, up by 3% from last season and by 7% from the 2012-16 average. By region: 7 277 tons are expected in the Center-Ouest, 24 079 tons in the South-West, 16 780 tons in the South-East and 13 455 tons in the other production areas.
