The 'Outlook for U.S. Agricultural Trade' study issued by the USDA, the U.S. Department of Agriculture, forecasts that for fiscal year 2025 (October 2024-September 2025) U.S. horticultural exports will increase in value by 2.97% and horticultural imports by 3.98% compared to fiscal year 2024.
The 'Outlook for U.S. Agricultural Trade' study issued by the USDA, the U.S. Department of Agriculture, forecasts that for fiscal year 2025 (October 2024-September 2025) U.S. horticultural exports will increase in value by 2.97% and horticultural imports by 3.98% compared to fiscal year 2024.
Horticultural exports in fiscal 2025 (October 2024-September 2025) are expected to reach a value of USD 41.5 billion, USD 1.2 billion higher than in 2024. Fresh fruit and vegetables are expected to increase by USD 100 million to USD 7.6 billion. Processed fruits and vegetables are expected to increase by USD 300 million to USD 8.3 billion. Whole and processed nuts are expected to increase by USD 400 million to USD 9.9 billion.
Horticultural imports in fiscal 2025 (October 2024-September 2025) are expected to reach a value of USD 104.5 billion, USD 4 billion higher than in 2024. Fresh fruit is expected to grow by USD 800 million to USD 20.3 billion. Imports of processed fruit should reach 9 billion USD, while fruit juice imports should reach 3.7 billion USD. Imports of fresh vegetables should reach USD 13.5 billion, while imports of processed vegetables should reach USD 9.1 billion.
For the agricultural sector as a whole (cereals, cotton, meat, dairy products, etc.), the study forecasts that US exports for fiscal 2025 should reach USD 169.5 billion and imports USD 212 billion, i.e. variations of -2.3% and +3.92% respectively compared to fiscal 2024.
