Today, Earth Day is celebrated around the world, by nearly half a billion people in 184 countries.
The event was celebrated for the first time on April 22,1970. Founder is the U.S. Senator Gaylord Nelson who encouraged students to develop projects of environmental awareness. Today Earth Day is recognized as the popular event dedicated to the world's largest environment.
On 30th of March, 2005, UNESCO published the first evaluation of Ecosystem for the Millennium, a damning report on the impact of humans on the planet. Human activities have changed ecosystems and caused degradation with disastrous consequences as the well-being of man is threatened by climate change who has initiated himself.
