Official opening of Coolport on Changi Airport which will have a capacity of handling of 250,000 tons annually.
Singapore Airport Terminal Services (SATS) opened Coolport @ Changi, the new facility at Changi Airport for handling perishable cargo.
Coolport @ Changi was officially inaugurated on November 26th. Opened since 5 months, it is currently used in 60% and should reach full capacity within 2 years.
Its area is 8,000 m2, its construction has cost 16.5 million U.S. dollars. Its annual handling capacity is about 250,000 tons. Coolport @ Changi has 18 different temperature zones ranging from -28 ° C to 19 ° C.
Singapore Airport Terminal Services (SATS) said that the perishable represents about 10% of global air cargo, and is expected to grow 8% annually.
