Picking up salads ... at the supermarket

Some Canadian consumers will have the ability to " pick up " their salads at the supermarket.

In the province of Quebec , LA POCATIERE groceries shop will offer customers to pick their salads directly in stores . An offer of " living plant " that provides the technologies developed by the company Inno- 3B.

Inno- 3B called his method " Grow to go" . The production is done in a closed environment and the distribution exclusively in a short circuit (maximum 150 km). The plants do not need refrigeration , only light and can live a long time, 3 to 4 weeks after delivery in stores.

Inno- 3B will offer salads ( lettuce ) and herbs (coriander , mint, parsley, basil ) . Then in the near future , strawberries and tomatoes.
