Spanish company co-sponsors the “Rural Woman – Spain Recognizes” award

In the frame of its Corporate Social Responsibility policy and being a supporter of disadvantaged groups in the geographical zones where it is established, CMR GROUP has been one of the sponsors of the 1st edition of the "Rural Woman-Spain Recognizes" award.

This award, promoted by the Brazilian representatives of IICA, the Embassy of Spain in Brazil, the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO) and ONU Women, is aimed for recognizing women’s contribution to development of sustainable agriculture.

The ceremony took place on April 28. Among the 482 entries received from women who work for the economic autonomy of producers, the jury awarded the first prize to the collective "Mulheres em Ação de Jequiá da Praia”, in Alagoas, which has over 50 women involved in improving life quality of workers in riverside communities.

Being part of this project, CMR GROUP wants to highlight achievements of rural women, encourage reduction of gender gaps and increase the employment rate of the rural female collective.
