Aksun Black Figs has attracted significant attention at Asia Fruit Logistica 2017
Aksun the Turkish active fruits and vegetables exporter has participated for the 4th time at Asia Fruit Logistica 2017, Hong Kong. This year company presented with proud its Black Fig concept.
Mr. Yigit Aslan, Aksun Sales manager, met on show explains: “Turkey is one of the most popular figs exporting countries in the world. Aksun is concentrated to export this variety and was honored in 2010, 2011 and 2012 with a bronze medal for the most export of Figs.”
As Mr. Yigit continues: “The most popular variety in Turkey is the Bursa Black fig. It is particularly suitable for export because of their durability and size. The growing area of the black figs is Bursa. What is important, all regions of Aksun are GLOBALGAP certified. The Aksun owns 4 Fig fields and 8 cold stores with 200m 2 area."
Mr. Yigit announced that in September 2017 company has launched new warehouse with 25 000 square meters of closed area and 80 000 square meters of open area facilities.
At the moment company already exports figs to Europe, Far and Middle East, South Africa, USA and Canada. Through a long-standing partnership with Turkish Airlines the Aksun able to supply with just few pallets by air freight loadings. With subsidiary company in Germany Interline – GmbH, Aksun is able to supply DDP in Europe. Worldwide accessibility is ensured by air or by truck shipments.
Exclusively for Fructidor Mr. Yigit shared with us this year forecasts. In 2016 Aksun has lower lemon season due to lack of rains and unpredictable high temperature. However, grapefruits and figs will bring more revenues thanks to high season as in 2016 season finished earlier that ensured a peak harvest in 2017.
