EPAL (European Pallet Association) has introduced a new product to the open pallet pool : the EPAL Euro pallet QR
The EPAL Euro pallet QR is marked on the 2 right-hand corner dice with an individual and unique QR code, giving it a distinct identity. Using their own IT systems or software developed by EPAL, users can associate the QR code with the goods on the pallet and, thanks to the Track&Trace function, access the location of the goods and the pallet in complete transparency.
We opted for this ambitious solution, namely marking with individual QR codes, so that users can link the EPAL Euro pallet QR to their own data. In future, the EPAL Euro pallet will no longer just be a handling tool, but also an information carrier. said Dirk Hoferer, President of EPAL.
The new EPAL Euro pallet QR can be exchanged without restriction in the open pallet pool and is therefore immediately operational in all logistics and exchange processes.
EPAL (European Pallet Association e.V.) is an international non-profit association responsible for the organisation of the EPAL Euro open pallet pool. With over 650 million EPAL Euro pallets and around 20 million EPAL pallet boxes currently in circulation, the EPAL Euro pallet exchange pool is the largest open exchange pool in the world. EPAL was founded in 1991 by national pallet associations that had been active since the 1960s, and is currently established in over 35 countries. More than 1,600 EPAL licensees manufacture and repair EPAL Euro pallets and other EPAL handling equipment.
