Russian phytosanitary service strengthens control over imported peanuts
Based on the recent information, Russian phytosanitary service has strengthened control over peanuts imported to Russian local market. This decision could be traced to detection of extremely high content of cadmium in 30 tons of peanuts imported from USA to Russian market. Examination results proved that content of cadmium in delivered products dramatically exceeded acceptable level – 0,1 mgkg. Russian phytosanitary service issued official order to either utilize imported peanuts or send them back to the country-supplier.
