MSC welcomes Soren Toft as Chief Executive Officer

On December 2, the MSC Mediterranean Shipping Company, a global leader in transportation and logistics, welcomed Soren Toft in his new position as Chief Executive Officer.
He reports to the MSC Group President, Diego Aponte, and to the Founder and MSC Group Chairman, Gianluigi Aponte.
Soren Toft was a Chief Operating Officer at Maersk since 2013, and then he served as a member of the Executive Board.
Now, in his role of CEO, he will manage MSC’s global cargo businesses including logistics and ocean liners. He will also become one of the members of the board of directors of Terminal Investment Ltd, the terminals business which is majority-owned by MSC Mediterranean Shipping Company.
His long-standing and impressive career in shipping over more than 20 years and vast experience in leadership positions will bring considerable contribution to MSC’s cargo businesses, boosting development plans of the company and its existing strengths even further.
Diego Aponte said that with the 25-years of experience in leadership positions, and his all-round understanding of the container shipping supply chain, Soren is the ideal partner to help lead MSC into the future at the helm of their family company, building on the strategy which has made MSC such a growing success these past 50 years.
