Big Food Group half-year loss

UK food retailer big Food Group has announced a pre-tax half-year loss of £9 milllion.
This compares to a profit of £2.8 million for the same period in 2003.
Big Food Group has seen a steady fall in sales at its Booker cash and carry and Iceland frozen foods operations amidst fierce competition in the UK market.
Icelandic group Baugur is still consdering a possible takeover of BFG.
