"Tomato Marmande" the distinctive sign that highlights the expertise of producers in the region.
The territorial brand "Tomate de Marmande" was created in order to restore notoriety to this historic product and thus respond to the wish of the entire industry to come together under a common banner. The brand is a guarantee of quality, know-how and guaranteed traceability for consumers.
On the initiative of the AIFLG (Association of Fruits and Vegetables of Lot-et-Garonne) which has been working for several years in the defense and promotion of Tomato Marmande, the territorial brand "Tomato Marmande" saw the day and its creation was announced at the recent "Salon de l'Agriculture" in Paris.
The territory of Tomato Marmande is structured around the department of Lot-et-Garonne. Tomato de Marmande, whether for the fresh or processed market, is grown only in the open ground. In 2020, there are 16 producers of Marmande Tomato fresh for 14 hectares cultivated and 69 producers of Marmande Tomato in processed products for 506 hectares cultivated.
Different shapes for all tastes and all uses:
“Tomatoes Hearts”, tender and fleshy texture, intense taste,
“Horned Tomatoes”, typical shape of horn or chilli, fleshy and dense texture, with very little juice
“Ribbed Tomatoes” different colors from dark brown to orange yellow, through to red, fragrant taste.

The launch of the territorial brand "Tomate de Marmande" is the 1st step before obtaining a PGI (Protected Geographical Indication).
