CAAB (Centro Agro-Alimentare di Bologna) commissioned on August 24 facilities with photovoltaic panels, one of the largest photovoltaic installations in Italy. The investment amounted to €15 million and will allow total self-sufficiency for CABB and its tenant companies.
On the roofs of CAAB, the 25,000 solar panels cover an area of ??70,000
m2 (10 football fields). The amount of energy produced annually is 6.6 million kWh. The CAAB whole needs 3 million kWh per year.
The next goal will be to reach 10.4 million kWh. The CAAB is one of the main markets in Italy with 600 to €650 million turnover.
