Record shipments to major Asian markets

SHAFFE (Southern Hemisphere Association of Fresh Fruit Exporters) reported that 2019 exports to Asia increased by 13% in volume and 15% in value.

 

 

 

SHAFFE brings together exporters from Argentina, Australia, Brazil, Chile, New Zealand, Peru, South Africa and Uruguay.

 

 

 

In 2019 their exports to Asian markets increased by 13% in volume to 2.6 million tonnes and by 15% in value to $7.6 billion.

 

 

 

According to the data, Chile remained the main fruit exporter to Asian markets, with a growth rate of + 20%. Excellent performances also for New Zealand (+ 16%) and Australia (+ 20%).
