Billa to expand in Russia

Billa, a subsidiary of Rewe Group, bought the Citystore chain and plans to open 10 additional new stores.
Billa, a subsidiary of Rewe Group, has received approval from the Russian authorities to finalise the purchase of the Citystore chain.
Billa is authorised to acquire the supermarket chain owned by the conglomerate Citystore Turkish Enka. The chain has 17 Citystore supermarkets
, all located in Moscow and surrounding area. These stores will be converted to Billa and integrated into its existing network in the coming months.
In addition to this acquisition, Rewe Group announced plans to open 10 new stores in Russia by the end of the year.
