Mangoes : Satisfactory 2015/16 season, production and exports on the rise

The mango sector continues to grow in Kenya and the season is satisfactory.

For the 2015/16 season an increase of  27 % in production and 30% for exports. Most of these exports go to the United Arab Emirates (56% of Kenyan shipments) and then to Saudi Arabia , Bahrain and Qatar. European demand ( UK, France , Germany ) is strengthened like other African countries (Tanzania, Somalia , South Africa ) that have an encouraging momentum.

For professionals, these good results come from work training for producers . Variety selection and respect of international demands has advanced the industry. Over the past 5 seasons , Kenya has recorded a 400% increase in exports of mangoes.
