Egypt multiplies its onion exports to India

Indian's onion production is still experiencing a difficult situation , the main growing areas have recorded levels of catastrophic rains that have compromised the crops.
Egypt has recently announced that its onion exports to India exceeded 18,000 tons. A volume ever achieved in the past, since India had imported only 576 tons of Egyptian onions last year.
This massive onion imports is expected to continue a few weeks , according to specialists of the Indian market . On the wholesale market of Mumbai , Egyptian onion is marketed around Rs 47 / kg and the little Indian onions available around Rs 50-55 / kg.
