Launch of the 1st Washington State Apple Week

The state of Washington is the US No. 1 state in the production and export of apples. This year the Washington Apple Commission launches the 1st WASHINGTON APPLE WEEK,  organized in 14 countries around the world.

 

 

 

This 1st WASHINGTON APPLE WEEK is organized in 14 countries from December 1st to 6th. The theme of the event is "From Our Trees to Your Table" which focuses on the history of Washington State producers. The Commission has selected 8 producers to be ambassadors of the Washington Apple brand.

 

 

 

These producers-ambassadors will visit the 3 main export markets: Mexico, Southeast Asia and India. They will meet local media and importers, retailers and consumers.

 

 

 

"Consumers want to know where their food comes from and who produces it, and we're taking advantage of this celebration to raise awareness of the passionate producers that are the source of the fruits we export to more than 60 markets around the world, and to raise awareness in the process of growing and packaging apples, "commented Rebecca Lyons, director of international marketing for the Washington Apple Commission.
