European pear harvests supposedly later than last season

According to recent estimations pear season will come later this year, in France and Portugal about five days and in Italy and Spain about one week.
Harvests will be later and the volume and area of pear cultivation will be smaller than previous season.
For example, the area of Abate Fetel sort of pears that are cultivated in Italy will be smaller about 3%.
In France, the volume of pear Williams will decrease about 10%.
Only production of Rocha pears in Portugal will remain on the last season’s level and will reach around 95,000 tons.
