Georgia has increased its exports to EU countries (Photo: businessgeorgia.ge).
According to the Ministry of Economy, Georgia has increased its exports to the European Union thanks to the free trade agreement concluded but also thanks to a diversification of its products.
The Ministry of Economy announced that trade between Georgia and the EU increased by 17.7% in 2018 compared to 2017, reaching $3.35 billion.
Georgia's exports grew by 11.5% last year. Between 2014 and 2018 Georgia has diversified its products to the EU, including agricultural products such as kiwis, blackcurrants, apples and quince.
Last year, Georgia exported a total of $959.2 million worth of agricultural products, up by 23.2% from 2017.
