Red Label Strawberries produced in the Lot-et-Garonne

The department of Lot-et-Garonne is the first department producer of strawberries in France. Red Label Strawberries arrive from the month of March.

The Interprofessional Association of Strawberry from Lot-et-Garonne obtained the first Red Label Strawberry for Gariguette, Ciflorette and Charlotte varieties. Choosing Red Label Strawberries is the guarantee of high quality. The production is subject to strict specifications, guarantor of a strawberry of generous shapes, typical color and unique taste! They are regular in shape, picked at optimum maturity and their color is typical of the variety. This superior quality is worked during the various stages of production, processing and marketing of fruit. There is a real traceability allowing to trace the origin of the fruit, from the consumer to the plot where the strawberry is grown.

The department of Lot-et-Garonne has about 200 producers, nearly 500 Ha and almost 200  Ha in hanging gardens. In 2012 the production was about 11 500 tons, nearly 20% of national production. Strawberries Ciflorette, Gariguette and Charlotte represent 65% of total production of the department.
