The EU Commission has launched an investigation in increased strawberry imports from China and Morocco.
The commission is investigating whether there has been a sudden surge in imports from these two countries, following a complaint from Poland.
According to the EU official journal, strawberry imports to Poland increased from 47,000 tonnes in 2001 to 93,000 tonnes in 2004.
If the commission rules in Poland's favour, quotas could be imposed on China and Morocco.
