Organic certification of lychee in Bihar should lead to better prices for farmers.

The state of Bihar, north east India, is increasing its efforts to expand organic farming in its territory.
 
A government program has already expanded to help increase organic farming, including 6000 hectares of fruit and 16,000 hectares of vegetables.

The growth of organic agriculture lychee was estimated at 1000 hectares in the north of the state. The

accredited organization, International Panacea Limited (IPL), has given certification to the lychee.

 
The IPL and NAFED, cooperative marketing organization, will collaborate to organize the export for certified organic lychee and get better prices for farmers.
