On the island of Moorea ( French Polynesia ) the fruit juice factory started to suffer from a lack of pineapple supply.
The parcels currently cultivated are no longer sufficient . Also the authorities have decided to allocate new land for pineapple culture. These lands , fifty hectares , are entrusted to COPAM ( Pineapple Growers Cooperative of Moorea ) who rents them to its members.
The thirty COPAM farmers will be able to produce 2600 tons of pineapple on these new lands per year.
