Firm prices and strong start of the orange season

2025/26 season shows a strong start untill January, with an average price €0,10/kg higher than the last 5 years, due to lower production levels.
This graph illustrates the evolution of orange prices ex-packaging station in the European Union (measured in €/100 kg) across different marketing years. It compares the current season's performance against the previous year and the historical five-year average. Current prices are significantly higher than the 5-year average (blue line) for the same period and are currently outperforming the early-season prices of the previous 2024/25 marketing year. Season prices began at €87 average in October and rose to €95 in November. They are holding steady in December and January around €95. EU citrus production 2025 is estimated at 7,5 million tons, which is 28,5% lower than 2024, easy peelers are the most affected.
