Dramatic jump in exports of passion fruit

Exotic fruits are in growing demand: exports of passion fruit have increased by 80% this year.
Peru has seen its exports of passion fruit increased dramatically between 2009 and 2010.
The agency Andina reported that Peruvian exports of passion fruit have reached a total of $ 251,900 between January and October this year that is an increase of 80% on shipments compared to 2009 for the same period. The total export volume reached 111,900 tons in October according to Promperu.
Australia is the first market of destination with a share of 39% of shipments, followed by Chile 36% and Argentina 22%.
