Mango season looks promising in Rangpur Region

If weather conditions remain stable, experts anticipate a strong harvest by May and June.
Mango production in Bangladesh’s Rangpur region is expected to see a bumper harvest this season thanks to favorable weather following recent rains. After a short drought, rainfall has supported smooth fruit formation across orchards in Rangpur, Gaibandha, Kurigram, Lalmonirhat, and Nilphamari, according to local media.
Farmers are actively tending to tender mangoes, with many cultivating high-yield and popular varieties like Haribhanga, Gopalbhog, Amrapali, and Lengra. Officials from the Department of Agricultural Extension (DAE) report that 98% of trees bloomed this season, marking it as an "on-year" for production.
Last season, the region produced over 84,000 tonnes of mangoes from 6,189 hectares, including nearly 38,500 tonnes of Haribhanga. The cultivated area has slightly increased this year. Field officers are helping farmers manage pest control to ensure healthy fruit growth.
If weather conditions remain stable, experts anticipate a strong harvest by May and June, offering good profit potential for growers.
