Peru steps up international promotion of fresh fruit and vegetables

Peru’s Ministry of Foreign Trade and Tourism (Mincetur) and the Association of Agricultural Producer Guilds of Peru (AGAP) have agreed to strengthen cooperation on the international promotion of fresh fruit and vegetable exports, according to Mincetur.

The agreement followed a meeting between trade minister Rogers Valencia and AGAP president Gabriel Amaro. Their discussions focused on closer coordination between the public and private sectors to support Peru’s agro-export industry and its presence abroad.

A central area of cooperation will be Peru’s participation in international trade events, with the broader aim of strengthening the positioning of the country’s fresh produce offer in overseas markets.
