Peru’s avocado exports top $1.49 billion through August

Peru increased avocado export earnings in the first eight months of 2026, while Europe remained the main destination region.
Peru exported US$1.49 billion worth of avocados between January and August 2026, up 9.1% from US$1.37 billion in the same period of 2025, according to Agrodata.
Shipments reached 793,267 tonnes, an increase of 3.6% year on year. The average export price rose from about US$1.79/kg to US$1.88/kg.
August exports amounted to US$213.18 million and 104,901 tonnes, compared with US$176.18 million and 103,717 tonnes a year earlier.
The Netherlands was the leading market, taking 37% of export value at US$548.47 million. Spain followed with 19%, the United States with 9%, the United Kingdom and Chile with 8% each, and China with 6%.
