Spain’s fruit and vegetable exports to the EU grow 10% by February

The country's fruit and veg gain weight in Europe and consolidate their presence in the United Kingdom.
During the first two months of 2025, 81% of Spain’s fresh fruit and vegetable exports were destined for European Union countries, reaching a total value of €3.015 billion, according to data from the Department of Customs and Excise. Compared to the same period last year, this market grew by 10%, with notable increases in Germany (+12%, €1.117 billion), France (+9%, €567 million), and the Netherlands (+7%, €332 million).
Exports outside the EU reached €724 million, representing 19% of the total and a 7% year-on-year increase. The United Kingdom was the leading non-EU destination and third overall, with purchases totaling €496 million, up 7% from 2024.
In volume terms, sales to the EU totaled 1.9 million tons (83% of the total), representing a 2% increase. Exports outside the EU reached 405,644 tons, 4% more than the previous year.
